Ballina Airport is a small regional airport run by the Council of Ballina Shire. It offers services to the town of Ballina in New South Wales, and also to the beachside town of Byron Bay. Last 2005, the airport was given a new name, Ballina Byron Gateway Airport, in order to attract more visitors to the area.


Ballina Airport has only one runway, 06/24, with a length of 1,900m.


The airport has one small terminal, which will undergo expansion and improvements in its interiors to accommodate the increasing number of passengers brought about by the introduction of services by the airlines Jetstar and Virgin Australia.

At present, the airport is serviced by Jetstar Airways, Regional Express, and Virgin Australia, which fly passengers to Sydney, Melbourne, and Newcastle.
