Devonport Airport is one of the six regional airports that serve the island state of Tasmania. It is run by the Tasmanian Ports Corporation, which was also the former operator of the Hobart International Airport. It is the third airport of Tasmania.

Runways

The airport consists of two runways. Measuring 1,838m in length is the main runway 06/24, which is surfaced with asphalt. The smaller runway, on the other hand, is only 880m long and has grass surface.

Terminals

There is only one passenger terminal in the airport, which is still big enough to accommodate all the necessary facilities and amenities. It will soon undergo a renovation project as part of overall upgrade of the airport. The terminal does not operate 24 hours, and is open only from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm everyday.

Flights and Destinations

Four times daily, Qantas Link, the only passenger airline in the airport, offers flights going to Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. Devonport is one of the cities that are competing for the servicing of flights of Virgin Australia in the Tasmania area.

Transport To and From the Airport

Using a car, the airport is approximately a 10-minute drive from the town center. Taxis can also be an option, which would cost around A$25. Passengers can also avail the service of car rental companies, who offices are located inside the terminal.
