Brindabella Airlines - Airline Information

A regional airline with its base in Canberra, Australia, Brindabella Airlines Pty. Ltd. is a Qantas Airways-affiliated carrier with a small network in the Canberra region. Flying from its base at the Canberra International Airport and its secondary hub at Brisbane Airport, it operates a fleet of 5 Fairchild SA227-AC Metro IIIs, and 2 BAe Jetstream 41s.

Founded in 1994, it started operations as an executive air charter and aircraft-for-hire service with an aircraft maintenance business on the side. In 2000, it added a school for flight training which it closed in 2010, and in 2003 began operations as a regional airline with scheduled flight services.

It is currently controlled by Aeropelican Air Services, another regional airline operating from Newcastle in New South Wales that purchased a controlling stake in Brindabella Airlines in 2011. Employing a staff of 80, it has been a recipient of awards for excellence in tourism (Rhodium ACT and Region Tourism Awards), the ACT Telstra Business Award, the Panasonic Australia award for business, and the most innovative business in the ACT (AMP Innovation Award).

Being a Qantas Airways affiliate, Brindabella Airlines also hosts Qantas’ booking system and Frequent Flyer program. Apart from its scheduled routes to Albury, Armidale, Cobar, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Sydney, Tamworth, Moree, and Cooma, it continues to operate charter services for hire to sports teams, business groups, musicians, government representatives, and emergency services personnel.

While providing air services to regional communities along its routes, it also sponsors events in these communities and employs local residents in its aim of broadening and developing its network.

Brindabella Airlines makes itself available for group bookings and air tours. It also offers freight and cargo services.
