On those hours the terminal is closed on Saturday afternoon and until 5 pm on Sunday, and it shuts at 3.30 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. Allow for them if you are meeting a flight or arriving early for one.
Airservices Australia lists Moree as a security controlled airport. The council's airport page says the impact of the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 on the airport included the installation of full perimeter fencing and closed-circuit television (CCTV), among other measures. Moree and Sydney are both in New South Wales, which observes daylight saving, as do Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not.
The Kamilaroi people are the traditional custodians of the land around Moree. The Tourism Moree website, which spells the name Gamilaroi, says the name Moree is believed to come from a Gamilaroi word meaning "rising sun", "long spring" or "water hole".
The Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre is at 20 Anne Street. The NSW Government says the hot mineral baths date from 1895, when a bore sunk into the Great Artesian Basin in search of irrigation water struck mineral water naturally heated to 41 degrees Celsius.

The Moree Baths and Swimming Pool Complex in Anne Street was added to the National Heritage List on 6 September 2013. The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water records that a Moree Council by-law "prevented Indigenous people from entering the Moree Baths and Pool", and that the Freedom Riders arrived in Moree on 19 February 1965.
The protest ended when the council rescinded the 1955 by-law. The department says the protest helped move public opinion towards a Yes vote in the 1967 referendum.
