Bundaberg Regional Airport (BDB) is 6 km south west of the Bundaberg central business district, in Queensland. Bundaberg Regional Council owns and operates it. Link Airways places the airport on the Isis Highway and gives the drive from the town centre as about 10 minutes.
The terminal building holds the departure lounge, with security screening at its entry, and a baggage collection area for arrivals. The council lists taxis and a shuttle service, and says the hire car companies operate from the terminal building. Direct domestic flights recorded from the airport go to Brisbane, with Link Airways and Qantas.
Security screening of all passengers takes place at the entry point to the departure lounge. Bags and other items go through an x-ray, passengers walk through a metal detector and a body scanner, and random explosive trace detection is carried out on people and their belongings. The council points travellers to the Australian Government's TravelSECURE for tips on preparing for screening.
| Facility | Where the council places it |
|---|---|
| Public toilets, including an all abilities toilet | In the terminal and in the baggage collection area |
| Baby change table | In the unisex all abilities toilet in the baggage collection area |
| Baggage trolleys | In the baggage claim hall near the carousel, for arriving and departing passengers |
| Free phone to call a taxi | In the terminal |
| Parking payment machines | In the baggage collection area |
| Emergency assembly area | North of the terminal, at the end of the covered walkway |
The trolleys are released with a coin deposit, and the coin comes back when the trolley is returned.
Smoking is not permitted inside enclosed buildings. The council notes that Queensland law bars smoking within five metres of any airport structure and of public transport waiting points such as taxis, and it says there are no designated smoking areas at the airport.

Public car parks sit to the left and right of the airport access road leading to the terminal. The first 30 minutes are free, and the council's schedule of fees applies after that.
A boom gate controls entry: tap a credit card, or take a ticket from the gate machine. Pay at the payment machines in the baggage collection area, which take cash, Visa and Mastercard, or tap the same credit card on the way out and the cost is debited to it.
Passenger drop-off is limited to two minutes, at the points next to the covered walkway at the front of the terminal or in the gated left-hand car park. Drivers may not leave the vehicle unattended in the drop-off zone.
Signed disability parking in the gated left-hand car park, close to the terminal access ramp, is for setting down and collecting a person with a disability. If you need to wait in between, the vehicle has to move to a normal parking space.

Bundaberg Regional Council applied a Polymer Modified Bitumen rejuvenation treatment across the airport's runways, taxiways and light aircraft areas, in works announced in February 2026. In June 2026 the council said the works were complete, and that construction had been staged so the airport kept operating. The council says the treatment helps seal early signs of wear, improves surface performance and extends the life of the pavement, and the works were funded with the Commonwealth Government's Regional Airports Program Round 4.
Bundaberg Region's tourism site says the Southern Great Barrier Reef begins at Bundaberg, and names Lady Elliot Island and Lady Musgrave Island. It lists reef life all year and turtle nesting from November to March.
Tourism and Events Queensland puts Mon Repos Conservation Park a short drive from the city centre. Its turtle page, published in January 2025, gives the turtle season as November to March, with peak nesting from November to January, hatchlings emerging from January to March and ranger-led night tours from November to March. Bundaberg Region's tourism site calls the rookery "the biggest in the South Pacific for the endangered loggerhead turtle".
Check the current tour season and booking with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service before you plan a trip around the turtles.
The council puts the airport 6 km south west of the Bundaberg central business district. Link Airways gives the drive from the town centre as about 10 minutes.
