Rockhampton Airport (ROK) is on Canoona Road in West Rockhampton, about 5 km from the central business district and about a ten-minute drive into the city. It is run by Rockhampton Regional Council, which describes the airport as a commercial business unit of the council serving the Central Queensland region.
Check-in and departures are at the northern end of the terminal, and the Qantas Club is upstairs past security. The taxi rank, the rideshare zone and the bus zone are outside the terminal, and the car hire desks are inside it.
The airport's frequently asked questions page lists its hours as 4am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 4am to 6pm on Saturday and 6am to 10pm on Sunday. The same page says the airport does not operate 24 hours, so it is not open overnight. Check the airport's frequently asked questions page for the current hours before you plan a late arrival or an early start.
The check-in counters are at the northern end of the terminal, and the airport's frequently asked questions page says most domestic airlines want passengers at check-in at least 45 to 60 minutes before departure. Its departures page recommends arriving at least one hour before your flight if you are checking in luggage. Your airline's own cut-off is the one that applies, so check it with the airline.
Screening is at the entrance to the departures lounge, and everyone going through is screened, which can include a body scanner, walk-through and hand-held metal detectors or a frisk search, and every bag is X-rayed. Some passengers are also randomly selected for explosive trace detection. For prohibited items, see the Australian Government's TravelSECURE website.
The airport's frequently asked questions page says domestic flights have no restrictions on liquids and gels. Check TravelSECURE before you pack if you are unsure about an item.
The Qantas Club is on Level 1 of the terminal's departure lounge. After security, turn right towards the gates and follow the signs upstairs, or take the lift. Access is checked on your boarding pass: at the bottom of a paper pass, under the three-dots menu in the Qantas App, or by the lounge icon on an Apple Wallet pass.

The airport describes its Masterplan as bringing together the plans of the past 90 years of its history and giving a 20-year roadmap for developing the whole site. The Masterplan's stated aim is a multi-modal road, rail, air transport and logistics hub alongside the future Rockhampton Bypass, the North Coast Railway line and the Bruce Highway.
